Information regarding School closures

The following is an update on what I know at this point after conversation with the employer as well as the Council of Unions.
Please keep in mind this is all new to everyone and decisions are being made in the best interest of the employees. Also it is an ever evolving issue which means it is changing constantly, so some of this information could change without much notice. Everyone is in contact with the Government and Health Canada as well as other officials to make this process work with the ultimate goal of protecting everyone from this virus. Please be mindful of the precautions put in place to assure we stay healthy and protect our most vulnerable.
Cleaners will NOT work during the March break as was planned. You will also not need to file an EI claim.
Trades and IT will work from home where possible and may be called in at times for work that has to be done on site.
Bus Garages will be fully operational.
Bus Drivers with additional duties will be working tomorrow March 16th no decision has been made yet beyond that.
Central office will be open.
Custodians will work at least tomorrow to ensure the schools are set up for a 3 week closure, making sure pipes don’t freeze and all garbage is gone etc.
Again some of this information could change at any time as there are still so many unanswered questions, I will update this site as information is provided.
